I unboxed Motorola’s Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition

February 12, 2026

Special-edition smartphone models arrive with regularity, especially around global sporting events. Samsung, for instance, recently unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition just in time for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. It looks stunning, but it’s not for sale. Unless you’re an Olympian, you probably will never touch it. That’s what has me excited about Motorola’s Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition.

It’s not only widely available in the U.S. and Canada as of today, Feb. 12, but it’s also priced at the usual $700 cost of the Motorola Razr 2025. You can get it directly from Motorola or through Verizon, and that may be the coolest part. Essentially, the FIFA World Cup 26 Edition is a repackaged Motorola Razr 2025 with deep soccer (or football) theming, from top to bottom. From the vegan leather back to the custom software, it all comes back to FIFA.

Motorola is already making a name for itself when it comes to smartphones with unique colors, materials, and finishes. This special-edition phone in particular takes the PANTONE Spring Bud colorway and adds FIFA World Cup 26 branding, making it a one-of-a-kind device.

When you first power on the Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition, you start to get a feel for how deep Motorola’s FIFA theming goes. The Motorola logo at startup is soccer-themed, and the “Powered by Android” loading screen is a shot of stadium seats. Even the default home screen is a green graphic themed to match the FIFA World Cup 2026 wordmark.

The body of the smartphone sports a matte aluminum finish in the PANTONE Spring Bud color, and the back is textured vegan leather. Personally, I think the rear vegan leather back is the best part of the Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition. It’s a multicolor material with various shades of green and teal intersecting to form the design of the FIFA 26 official brand. Square bumps on the vegan leather give the back a three-dimensional feel with extra grip.

A gold Motorola logo is recessed in the center of the vegan leather back, and the FIFA 26 icon sits below it. The gold “26” logo features a cutout in the metal, with the inside portion forming the outline of the World Cup trophy. Below that, there’s small text that tosses Motorola credit for being the “Official Smartphone Partner” of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Since the Motorola Razr 2025 cover screen is not edge-to-edge, the FIFA vegan leather theming continues along the top of the flip phone. This creates a cohesive look that is stunning when the device is open. Between the green aluminum, gold accents, and FIFA vegan leather branding, this phone feels tailor-made for World Cup fans.

Rounding out the software tweaks are an exclusive FIFA World Cup 2026 ringtone. When you receive an incoming call, by default, this Razr 2025’s ringtone will play the official FIFA World Cup 2026 ringtone. The smartphone will also offer the option to add a FIFA watermark to photos, which is a cool way to capture and share World Cup memories.

Motorola included just the right amount of personal FIFA touches to this special edition of the Razr 2025. At the end of the day, this is still going to be someone’s smartphone, so it’s best not to overdue the branding. The design is incredible and the software adjustments are minor but meaningful, which is a winning combination.

At its core, this is still a Motorola Razr 2025 — that’s a good thing

On the inside, this is a Motorola Razr 2025 — that’s (mostly) a good thing. There are some quirks, like opening up a new phone and realizing it’s running Android 15 with no Android 16 upgrade available yet. Otherwise, not much has changed since I reviewed the Motorola Razr 2025 and described the phone as “balling on a budget.” That still applies, as the Razr 2025 is still capable and the FIFA World Cup 26 Edition is priced at the same $700 starting price.

It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset, features 8GB of memory, and comes with 256GB of storage. There’s a 4,500mAh battery that can “keeps fans powered from kickoff to the final whistle” and fast wired and wireless charging. For protection, the phone is IP48-certified against some dust and water ingress.

The displays are the fun part — you get a versatile 3.6-inch cover screen capable of running any Android app paired with a 6.9-inch main screen. Both displays are high-quality pOLED panels supporting high refresh rates (90Hz for the cover screen, 120Hz for the main screen). The camera system is no slouch, headlined by a 50MP, f/1.7 primary shooter and complimented by a 13MP ultrawide lens.

I doubt many people are going to by a Razr 2025 just for the FIFA theming. However, if you were intrigued by the Razr 2025 already or flip phones in general, this is the one to get. I consider myself to be a casual World Cup fan, but the Motorola Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition hits the mark, even for me. I’ll certainly be rocking this special edition phone during competition this summer.
