The Galaxy S26 Ultra is here, and it has plenty to offer. What grabs attention right away is its massive 6.9-inch display and the included S Pen that makes certain tasks that much easier to handle.
If you plan on ordering yours, these are the first five apps I’d recommend you download. I’ll skip the obvious ones like Spotify and ChatGPT, as this list is solely focused on the apps that take advantage of the phone’s large display, its stylus, or both at the same time. Let’s dive in.
Privacy display • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy • Power AI features •
Powerful flagship with top-tier cameras, AI, and privacy features.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is Samsung's slimmest and lightest Ultra yet, pairing a 6.9-inch 10-bit display with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and a redesigned cooling system. It doubles down on imaging with a brighter 200MP main camera, upgraded zoom, advanced 8K video features, and Ultra-exclusive privacy and Galaxy AI tools.
DocuSign

Mitja Rutnik / Android Authority
If you’re like me and have to sign a bunch of documents on a regular basis, DocuSign is a lifesaver. I’ve used it for a while now, and the process of signing a document and sending it to someone is a breeze. With the help of the S Pen, it becomes that much easier.
I generally use it to sign invoices and send them to my clients, but there are plenty of other use cases for it as well. The app is free to use for signing, but there are limits on how many documents you can send out for signature. For those who want to get rid of the restrictions, a subscription plan is available starting at $10 per month.
Concepts

Tushar Mehta / Android Authority
Moving from signing documents to proper creative work, Concepts is an app that lets you draw, create mind maps, or just jot down a few notes. What makes it different from most is that it has an infinite canvas, so you’ll never run out of space for your ideas.
This app is perfect for the S26 Ultra since it takes full advantage of its massive display, and the included S Pen makes sketching out ideas seamless. Pens, pencils, brushes — you name it, the app has got it. You’re basically only limited by your own imagination. The app is free with several limitations, and you’ll either need a monthly subscription ($4.99) or a one-time purchase ($39.99) to unlock the core professional tools.
Colorfy

This next one is all about creativity as well, but it’s a different experience than Concepts. Colorfy is designed to be more meditative, keeping you focused on the simple, relaxing task at hand.
It’s a coloring game that helps you de-stress and clear your mind. There are tons of designs to choose from, ranging from simple shapes to complex illustrations. Whether you want to color an animal, intricate patterns, or mandalas, Colorfy has you covered. It works perfectly with the S Pen, making the process of filling in tiny details much more enjoyable than using your finger. While there are several free designs available to get you started, you’ll likely want a subscription to really unlock the full library and get the most out of it.
Readwise Reader

Mitja Rutnik / Android Authority
Thanks to its massive display, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is great for reading, and to store all your reading materials in one place, you should definitely consider downloading Readwise Reader. It’s a powerful “all-in-one” tool that can store articles from the web, PDFs, ePub files, and even newsletters.
What’s great about it is that it removes ads and pop-ups from web posts, providing a clean, clutter-free reading experience that looks stunning on the Ultra’s high-resolution screen. With the help of the S Pen, you can highlight specific parts of a document to find them easily later. The app is also AI-powered; using a feature called Ghostreader, it can summarize long articles, define complex terms, or explain specific phrases in more detail when you highlight them. The app is free for 30 days after you sign up, after which you’ll need a Readwise subscription, which currently goes for around $9.99 per month.
MyScript Notes

Mitja Rutnik / Android Authority
If you like to write things down by hand but still love the convenience of typed text, MyScript Notes is the app for you. It’s built on the world’s most advanced handwriting recognition engine; you can jot down quick notes or write detailed documents by hand, and the app will transform them into perfect typed text with just a tap. You can even write out complex math formulas, and the app will convert them into something you can actually edit or solve.
One of its best features is its infinite canvas for your writing, mind maps, and sketches. Typed and handwritten text can live on the same page, making this a great tool for annotating PDFs and other files without feeling restricted by page margins. While there is a free version available with various limits, the full experience is accessible via a subscription starting at around $1.99 per month, or a one-time lifetime purchase if you prefer to own it forever.
These are the first five apps I recommend you try out on the S26 Ultra, although there are plenty of others that take advantage of the phone’s large screen and the S Pen. Which ones would you add to the list? Let me know in the comments.
