March Pixel Drop unlocks new features you wish you had sooner

The March Pixel Drop is here, which means it’s time your Pixel gets a fresh set of features that will make it a better device. According to Google, the updates are rolling out starting today and will continue over the next several weeks. So without any more delays, let’s dive into the long list shared by Google about all the new things you can experiment with in the March Pixel Drop.

Circle to Search will find that outfit you’ve been dying to try on

Circle to Search is getting a small boost, allowing you to become more granular when it comes to finding products within images. So, say, for example, you’re excited about a new look you’ve seen on the streets, well, by snapping a photo or just using a photo from a website, Circle to Search will now attempt to show all the items in the image.

Furthermore, you can also upload a photo of yourself and Circle to Search will transform your selfie with the ‘Try it On’ feature, putting you in the clothes you’re interested in so that you can get an idea of how you will look. If you don’t want to upload your own image, you can use a model image as well. It’s a nice touch, especially if you’re someone that dislikes trying clothes on.

Gemini is ready to be your assistant

If you’re ready to really let go and let Gemini handle things for you, Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 owners will now be allowed to have the model go through your to-do list to get things done. If this sounds a bit scary, we understand. According to Google, this feature will be in beta, and it will include things like ‘ordering groceries to booking a rideshare service to reordering your usual coffee.’

We have to say that if this all goes smoothly, we’d be impressed. And you can’t really argue with Gemini trying to save you time and energy. The great thing about this is that you’ll still have control over the whole process. You’ll be able to see what tasks it will complete for you, and you can even cancel them if they are not needed.

Magic Cue can now help you with dinner plans

We’ve all been there, we’re getting ready to head out, talking with friends to plan out the night, and well, you just don’t know where to eat. Sure, there are probably hundreds of places you can try, but finding that thing the group all craves can sometimes be a huge chore. Luckily, Magic Cue is ready to give a helping hand, with the ability to give suggestions during your chat session with friends. Who knows if the recommendations will be good, but at least there are options.

Now Playing becomes it’s own thing

Now Playing is now its own app going forward. In addition to breaking out from being just a feature, Now Playing also gets a bit more fleshed out, with a new design with pops of Material 3 Expressive, along with additional features like browsing your search history, playing a song in your favorite music app, and more.

At a Glance can now help you see more

Google’s At a Glance feature isn’t everyone’s favorite, but if you’re someone who relies on it daily, you’ll be happy to know that you can now see more at a glance thanks to support for new categories like stocks, sports updates, traffic conditions, and more.

Customize icons built using AI

Material 3 Expressive made customization cool on Android, but this new AI feature might take things over the top. Android will now let you create custom icons using AI. You will get a choice of five different styles, and from what we’re seeing, this is pretty cool. Naturally, results will vary, so give it a shot. If you’re not into it, you can always go back to the default.

In addition to the above, Google reports that its AI features will roll out to more regions. There are some changes also coming to Pixel Watches. The latest update will bring new earthquake alerts, and will expand satellite coverage to new regions.

The Pixel Watch will now be able to tell you if you left your phone behind, and gestures, which were exclusive to the Pixel Watch 4, are now coming to the Pixel Watch 3. Payments using Pixel Watch are becoming even more seamless with Express Pay.

If you have this enabled, you won’t have to open your Wallet each time you want to pay at a terminal or use a transit service. This is a huge update for Pixel devices, and one that you’ll want to try ASAP if you have the ability. Just head into your updates section to get started.
