Google took the smartphone world by storm last November when it unlocked AirDrop support for the Pixel 10 lineup. Not only was this development surprising because we didn’t really see it coming, but also because Google did it all alone, without any cooperation from Apple.
Google soon confirmed that the functionality will eventually land on all Android devices. The ambitious undertaking has manifested first in the Pixel 9 series, and it has now expanded to the Galaxy S26 line.
Samsung announced the rollout over the weekend, and although it was limited to users in Korea at first, AirDrop support is now starting to show up in other regions too.
The development was first highlighted by the folks over at SammyFans, indicating that the software update that brings AirDrop support has started rolling out to users in Europe and India.
The update carries the build version AZCF. Installing it unlocks Quick Share’s new AirDrop toggle.
US-based users, on the other hand, will have to keep waiting a little longer. The update hasn’t landed here just yet, though expect it to be available sometime within the week. The same goes for users in Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, and Taiwan.
Unlike the Pixel 10 series, the feature will not be enabled by default. Users will have to manually enable it by
Once available and installed, users will need to enable the feature by heading to Settings > Connected Devices > Quick Share > Share with Apple devices.
