Fresh images surface for this highly anticipated successor to one of the best Google TV streaming devices out right now

Walmart’s Onn 4K Pro is the best-value Google TV streaming device that you can buy. But I would argue that since it’s half the price of Google’s own TV Streamer 4K, it’s the better model out of the two. Of course, things like this can be subjective, but I think we can probably agree that we wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel to the Onn 4K Pro.

About a month ago, we got our first potential glimpse of a successor through an FCC listing, along with some of its specifications, and now it appears there’s even more evidence that something new is on the horizon. Thanks to Reddit, we’re seeing some new images of the upcoming model, showing off the redesigned successor to the Onn 4K Pro (via 9to5Google).

Walmart quietly raises prices of its best-value Google TV streamer

Blame the DRAM and NAND crisis

It looks awfully familiar

For the most part, this looks identical to what we saw just a month ago, with the new shape resembling Google’s TV Streamer 4K device. The previous model was quite compact in comparison and offered a subtle look that could easily blend into any home theater setup. What’s coming up looks more of the same, but it will just take up a touch more space.

When it comes to the specifications, this Reddit post sheds light that the new device will feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. That means there are no changes when compared to the current model. Naturally, we have to think that since this new model is in the works that it will offer some improvements, right?

Hopefully, we’ll at least see a processor upgrade, along with some other changes. At this point, it’s not clear when this device will arrive, but what’s more concerning is Walmart’s recent decision to raise prices on its popular Onn devices. We don’t like price increases any more than the next person, but we still think that even with increased prices, the Onn products provide a ton of value.

That’s probably why these devices are some of the best-value products out on the market right now. Naturally, we’ll just have to wait and see what comes. We don’t think it’ll be all that long before we see new Onn products hit the shelves. When checking Walmart’s website, it looks like the current 4K Pro is out of stock online, which means a replacement could be imminent.
