New smartphone releases nowadays are more about incremental updates than anything revolutionary.
The recently released Samsung Galaxy S26 series is no exception, but it does pack some good surprises that many users will love.
I certainly love using all of them on my Galaxy S26. However, the one I love the most is an AI feature that I never thought I would need. I use it every day.
What I love most about it is that it feels well-integrated into the system and works smoothly, to the point that I often forget it’s even running.
I realized how much I had gotten used to the feature on the S26 after I used my old Galaxy S21 for a few hours. The feature is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, so you won’t be able to get it working on any older Galaxy handsets.
Galaxy AI’s Now nudge is an underrated feature in the Galaxy S26 series, and it’s truly a game-changer in my book. Here is what it does and how I use it.

The world-first feature is very special, but there’s a lot more to the phone
What’s Now nudge on Galaxy S26, and what does it do?

Now nudge is part of Galaxy AI’s features, just like the previously launched Now Brief capability. It’s way ahead of any other Galaxy AI features that I’ve used on my phone because of how proactive it is in fixing a key issue I never thought existed.
Now nudge can identify what’s on the screen and suggest several actions your phone can perform with a single tap, and get things done quickly.
It processes data directly on the phone to give you context-aware suggestions, so it isn’t a privacy nightmare.
Not only does it sound exciting in theory, but it also comes in handy in real-world usage.
The Now nudge functionality can suggest you take actions like adding events to your calendar and sharing photos if it detects relevant information on your screen.
However, its capability isn’t limited to adding events to the calendar and sharing photos.
It can also help you quickly view phone numbers, make a call, send money, reply to a message, and much more, depending on the on-screen information.
This no longer sounds like a revolutionary feature, because Google’s Pixel 10 series introduced something very similar by releasing the Magic Cue feature before the S26 even went official.
How do I use Now nudge on my Galaxy S26?
It’s only been a few days since I started using the Now nudge feature on Galaxy S26. Since I knew beforehand that Samsung would launch the feature on the S26, it’s one of the features I enabled after the first boot.
It didn’t disappoint, living up to everything I was expecting from it. After spending a week using it, I noticed that I use the feature the most when chatting with someone using messaging or social media apps.
When someone shares their location, Now nudge detects that and suggests the action above the keyboard, allowing me to view the location in a map app.
In my one week with the feature, I also used it to add events to the calendar. It’s more convenient than minimizing the messaging app and then switching to a Calendar app to create an event.
The feature also accurately nudged me to share photos with my friends on social media.
However, my biggest regret during that one week was that the conversation never reached the point where Now nudge would suggest recalling contact information, schedules, and reminders.
Hopefully, it’ll happen in the near future.
How to enable Now nudge on the Galaxy S26 series?

The Now nudge feature isn’t enabled by default on Galaxy S26 models, so you need to enable it manually from the Settings. Just follow a few simple steps. Here is how to enable it on the Galaxy S26 series.
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Galaxy AI.
- Scroll down to find the Now nudge option.
- Tap Now nudge, and enable the On toggle.
On the Now nudge setting page, you’ll also see the Personal data intelligence option. You can use this to store information like your name, phone number, email address, or passport number.
This comes in handy when you fill in forms. Now nudge will understand the context and suggest information you saved in Personal data intelligence. You can enter them automatically with just a tap.
I’ll probably keep my S26 because I’m quietly hooked on Now nudge
I didn’t know I’d become this dependent on Now nudge until I switched back to my 4-year-old Galaxy S21 for a couple of days. More than the slow performance, what bothered me the most was the missing Now nudge feature in the S21.
But for those who use a Galaxy S25, Now nudge alone isn’t worth upgrading your phone to the latest Galaxy S model. S25 users will likely get the feature with the One UI 8.5 or One UI 9 update in the future.
Since I don’t have an S25, I will probably keep my S26 because Now nudge has changed how I use phones.
