Mobile gaming is getting better and better. Not only are you able to enjoy some great apps from the Google Play Store, but you can also play top-end PC games as well. And while touchscreen controls are pretty good, nothing beats a physical controller if you’re trying to get the most precise movements.

There are a wide range of controllers to choose from, but we think this one from 8BitDo checks all the right boxes and also comes in at a price that’s easier on the wallet. While it’s typically $70, we’re now seeing a steep discount that drops it down to just $47 from Woot. This is one of the better prices that we’ve seen, making it a great time to pick one up.

An impressive controller that gets a lot right

8BitDo is known for its classic designs, and this model looks the part, coming in three different retro colors. The Pro 3 controller builds on previous models from the brand to deliver the ultimate experience. Not only is the design familiar, but it’s also quite comfortable to hold.

You get the usual selection of thumbsticks, buttons, triggers, shoulder buttons, and a D-pad. But with Pro in the label, you know 8BitDo is going to have some extra perks to make this special. For starters, the buttons are magnetic and swappable, allowing you to change the layout to suit your needs.

The controller utilizes TMR joysticks and also provides the ability to “switch from linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers.” In addition, this controller also comes with programmable L4 and R4 shoulder buttons. Furthermore, you can also slap on some ball-top joystick caps for a more retro feel.

If all of that wasn’t enough, it also comes with a charging dock to keep it topped up and out of the way when not in use. For the most part, you really can’t go wrong here. This controller is great to use and loaded with thoughtful extras. Get it now for just $47.
