No Way Home’ gets exciting new trailer featuring Green Goblin: Watch

Spider-Man: No Way Home is just a month away, and the new trailer has tons of crazy details for us to obsess over.

The third Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland picks up shortly after the events of the second, with Peter Parker facing the end of his anonymity in the MCU. Recall that before Far From Home villain Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) met his untimely demise, he revealed Peter’s identity to the world and framed him for the Elemental attacks.

With the eyes of the world suddenly on Peter, his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya), and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon), Peter turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help. But when a spell to reclaim Peter’s privacy goes sideways, the Avengers’ tampering with the space-time continuum unleashes the power of the multiverse.

Regrettably, the trailer does not confirm — or deny! — the return of former Spideys Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. (If Marvel were going to confirm a spoiler that big, then it’d probably be, uh, during the movie.) However, we do get a longer look at Alfred Molina reprising his role as Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 (2004); he appeared only briefly in the first trailer. And, for the first time, we see the return of Jamie Foxx as Electro from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man (2002), Sandman from Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, and more.

Plus, there’s a familiar scene of MJ falling from a bridge that will have some fans very nervous.

Spider–Man: No Way Home swings into theaters (and infinitely across multiple timelines) Dec. 17.
