Halo Infinite Reaches 200,000 Peak Concurrent Players On Steam After Fracture: Tenrai Event Goes Live

Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer beta is soaring to new heights. The game reached more than 200,000 peak concurrent players on Steam recently, and the spike in players is surely attributable in part to the launch of Halo Infinite’s first multiplayer event, Fracture: Tenrai, on November 23.

The player figures were posted on Steam’s public player data page. In exceeding 200,000 peak concurrent players, Halo Infinite is one of the most popular games on Steam overall.

The game is also available on Microsoft’s store on PC and through Xbox, but similar player data figures are not available for those platforms.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is free, which makes comparing its success to earlier titles more challenging. Whatever the case, Halo Infinite is clearly off to a very strong start, even despite issues and concerns people have with the XP and progression systems.

On that front, 343 community director Brian Jarrard recently said the studio hears the feedback “loud and clear.” Updates might not be released immediately, however, as the team is taking a break for the holidays. 343 already made some changes to the XP and progression systems, but “more robust” updates are coming later.

The Fracture: Tenrai event adds new cosmetics and a new Fiesta mode, among other things. Check out our rundown of Fracture: Tenrai to learn more.

And in other news, Microsoft recently explained why delaying Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op feature was the right thing to do.
