The OnePlus 10 Pro could have slower charging than first rumored

TL;DR

  • A leaker claims that the OnePlus 10 Pro will have 80W wired charging.
  • This latest leak also seems to corroborate previously released details.

We already have loads of OnePlus 10 Pro leaks to sift through, but it looks like the leak train isn’t stopping just yet. Prominent Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has just posted a slew of apparent details regarding the new flagship.

The leaker claimed that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz curved OLED screen (with LTPO tech) and a 32MP selfie camera in a punch-hole cutout. Staying with the cameras, it’s believed that the phone will have a 48MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and 8MP 3X telephoto shooter. This is all pretty much in line with previous leaks.

Where things get interesting though is in the charging field, as the tipster says it’ll have 80W wired charging. This is a lower wattage than the 125W speeds suggested by another leaker earlier this year. Otherwise, the phone is also tipped to gain 50W wireless charging, in line with the OnePlus 9 Pro.

Either way, 80W charging should deliver charging times of well under an hour with a 4,500mAh battery. In fact, the Mi 11 Ultra offers 67W charging that takes just under 40 minutes for its 5,000mAh battery. So you should still get fast top-up speeds if the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a 5,000mAh pack.

Nevertheless, between the Galaxy S22 series, Google Pixel 6 range, and Xiaomi 12 series, there’ll be no shortage of quality flagship phones to choose from in 2022. So we hope the OnePlus 10 series delivers a great experience when it’s eventually released.
