New The Batman Clip Features Pattinson’s Dark Knight Getting Combative With Jim Gordon

Actor Robert Pattinson teed up a new clip of The Batman during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on February 16. The Caped Crusader’s next outing is slated to release in theaters on March 4.

In this newly-aired clip, Pattinson’s Batman questions Jeffrey Wright’s police commissioner James Gordon about Gotham police officers with dubious loyalties. As the film takes place in Batman’s second year of fighting crime, it’s likely that the alliance between Gordon and Batman is still somewhat uneasy–meaning that in a movie full of characters and complex relationships, special attention will be paid to how this unlikely pair learned to work together. Check it out below.

In another interview, Pattinson told Den of Geek that he’s already got a list of villains he’d like to vanquish as Batman in a potential–though still unannounced–sequel. ”I’d love to do something like Court of Owls,” Pattinson said, referencing the secret society that first appeared in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s 2011 Batman comic book series and whose gothic aesthetic would fit well into director Matt Reeves’ vision of Gotham City. “There are elements of The Batman which are kind of horror and I think it really feels quite new for Batman.” Pattinson also made special mention of Calendar Man–perhaps one of the franchise’s most divisive and derided villains.

In yet another interview still, Pattinson went hard in the paint for the Batman film franchise, arguing that “none of them are bad movies.”

The Batman releases in theaters on March 4, and runs nearly three hours, and is the first of several big DC films coming out in 2022. If that’s not enough, you can also prepare for Pattinson’s turn as the iconic hero by listening to both The Batman and the Riddler’s themes, and there’s a 4K version of a clip that unofficially leaked.
