Apple announces ‘Peek Performance’ event for next week

March 2, 2022

TL;DR

  • Apple has announced an event for March 8.
  • The iPhone SE 2022 is expected to have a starring role on the day.

We heard murmurings of an upcoming Apple event in recent days, and the Cupertino company has now made it official by announcing a March 8 event.

Apple announced the event on its website, with a start time of 10 AM PST (1 PM ET). Meanwhile, senior vice-president of marketing Greg Joswiak tweeted the ‘Peek Performance’ tagline when announcing the event.

So what will the company actually be announcing, then? Well, a third-generation iPhone SE has been rumored for an H1 2022 launch for months now. In fact, Bloomberg reported back in February that an iPhone SE 2022, iPad Air 5G, and a new Mac computer could all be announced on or around March 8.

The new compact iPhone is expected to arrive with 5G, improved cameras, and a better chipset. So those on the hunt for a pocket-friendly smartphone might want to keep an eye on this launch event.
