Aston Martin V12 Zagato: If You Want One, Now You Have to Buy Two

A year after the project was originally announced, Swiss company R-Reforged has revealed more details on the specification of its Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS, which will be handbuilt in Warwick, England. R-Reforged will built 19 Coupes and 19 Speedsters, and the cars will be sold in pairs to 19 customers. The company claims most of the cars have already been sold.

Essentially a design evolution of the limited-edition Aston Martin V12 Zagato launched in 2011, the Zagato Heritage TWINS are based on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage built from 2009 through 2013. Under the hood is a reworked version of that car’s naturally aspirated 5.9-liter, 48-valve engine that R-Reforged says now produces 600 horsepower. The cars also feature bespoke 19-inch center-lock wheels designed by APP Tech.

The Zagato-themed bodywork, which features the iconic double-bubble roof design on the coupe, along with a new Zagato-style grille, aggressive haunches over the rear wheels, and single round taillights, is made completely from carbon fiber and incorporates a deployable rear spoiler to improve stability at high speeds. Though similar in overall form to the 2011 V12 Zagato, the Heritage TWINS differ significantly in terms of design details, especially in the grille, hood, and front fenders. And, of course, the 2011 V12 Zagato was only available as a coupe.

Customers will be able to order their TWINS in any colors they choose, with paint-to-sample finishes offered for the exteriors and Bridge of Weir leather for the interiors. The gold and platinum cars shown here have been specified by Marella Rivolta Zagato, the daughter of Italian supercar maker Piero Rivolta who runs Zagato with husband Andrea, the grandson of company founder Ugo.

“The Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged are undoubtedly a highlight of our centenary celebrations,” said Andrea Zagato, “a beautiful, bespoke, and intrinsic part of our history and creative association with Aston Martin.”
