TL;DR: As of March 31, the PICO Planter Herb Garden is on sale for $39.99 instead of $49, so you’re getting a discount of 18%.

As a plant parent, there’s nothing more heartbreaking than watching your leafy green child shrivel up and rot. But sometimes, despite the amount of love you put into it, that’s exactly what happens. There’s no way to guarantee your plants will thrive, but the PICO Planter — a Kickstarter-funded smart grow unit — could increase the chances.

At its core, the PICO, made by Altifarm Enverde, is a plant pod. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but can also be mounted on practically any surface for an optimized growing experience — on the wall, counter, or even the refrigerator. Its built-in smart features, however, are what earned it hundreds of thousands of dollars on Kickstarter.

Attached to the planter is a telescopic OSRAM LED grow light that simulates the sunshine. The light is designed to energize your plant with all the necessary wavelengths, while the telescopic height adjustment ensures it can accommodate your plant’s accelerated growth spurts up to nine inches. Even if you don’t have a ton of natural light in your home, the PICO claims your plants are always taken care of.

Underneath the pod is a 90 ml water reservoir that automatically delivers exactly the amount of nourishment your plant needs. You’ll just have to top it off once a week and the PICO will do the rest. Its capillary system soaks up the water from the reservoir into the soil and detects when it needs more.

The PICO pods come with a USB charging cable for the lights, which you can keep plugged in or charge up each night, plus a daisy chain cable, which can connect up to three pods on the same charger. You’ll also get a handful of different mounting options to adorn your space with greenery as you see fit. Typically $49, the PICO is on sale for $39.99 for a limited time — that’s 18% in savings. Choose from coral, blue, or sea green.
