Poll: Do you want an edit button on Twitter?

It’s only taken over a decade, but Twitter has finally announced that it’s working on an edit button for the platform. The feature, which will be tested in the coming months, has been in the works since 2021.

Is this something you want, though? That’s the topic of our featured poll today, so let us know by voting below.

Do you want an edit button on Twitter?

92 votes

There are a few upsides to allowing an edit button on Twitter, with the first being that you can go back and correct any typos in that tweet you just sent. This could also be handy for fact-checking and fighting disinformation, allowing viral news tweets to be edited with corrections.

In saying so, an edit button does open the door for tweets to be completely changed for the worse. Someone could theoretically post a tweet that subsequently goes viral, and then change the tweet to something else entirely (e.g. promoting a business or scam).

Either way, you can give us your opinion via the poll above or leave a comment if you’ve got more on your mind.
