2021 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport Will Offer Three Grille Designs

April 30, 2020

We get it. You want to see the 2021 Ford Bronco in the metal. Tough luck, because that’s not happening today, or even soon, even. Instead, you’ll have to make do with this not-so-juicy tidbit: The new Bronco will offer three—yes, three—different grille designs, according to the folks at Ford Authority, which cribbed this info from “sources familiar with the project.” The three grille designs will likely go by the names Modern, Classic, and Custom, and each is sure to add its own flair to the Bronco’s mug.

The Modern grille will purportedly serve as the Bronco’s default setup. We’ve already seen it, too, per Ford Authority, as the black-colored grille—replete with large “BRONCO” badging—gracing the maws of the camouflage-free Broncos that leaked onto the web earlier this year. It’s also highly reminiscent of the unit fit to the Bronco R race truck.

Frankly, the supposed Modern grille design already looks pretty retro, so who knows how Ford’s going to give the allegedly extra retro Classic grille an even more nostalgic look. That said, expect either plenty of chrome to adorn the face of 2021 Broncos equipped with the Classic grille design, or a simpler white or similarly contrasting-color slotted piece like that fitted to the original Bronco in the ’60s.

2021 Ford Bronco Custom Grille

Trying to avoid a Bronco with overt retro cues? Then maybe a Bronco with the Custom grille is the SUV for you. The Custom grille evidently sports a higher-end look relative to its Modern and Classic cohorts, which ought to add an extra dose of class to Broncos equipped as such.

These three grille options are not limited strictly to the Bronco, either, and Ford Authority notes the smaller Bronco Sport will offer the same themed options when it enters production later this year. We know this is small news in the grand scheme of Bronco things, but until Ford pulls the covers off its body-on-frame SUV (as well as the Bronco’s smaller unibody sibling, the Bronco Sport) this news about the Bronco’s grille options is all we got.
