Best TV deal: Save $720 on the 65-inch LG C1 OLED TV

SAVE $720: Woot has the 65-inch LG C1 OLED TV on sale for just $1,579.99 as of May 13. That’s 31% off its $2,299.99 MSRP, which is its biggest discount to date.

Hot take: No one actually needs to splurge on the latest and greatest TV. Display technologies are developing at a rate slow enough to keep most TVs in rotation for at least a few years, so unless you’re someone who’s fiending to see shows in 8K, you can safely opt for an “older” model that’ll save you a few hundred bucks.

Take LG’s excellent C1 OLED TV from 2021. While a newer model made its debut at CES 2022 (the aptly named LG C2 OLED), the general consensus is that its slightly brighter OLED “evo” panel doesn’t justify its much-higher price tag. That’s part of the reason why the C1 remains our favorite 4K TV for gaming to this day — it’s a still-great TV at an equally great value.

In fact, the 65-inch model just hit a new all-time-low price at Woot (an Amazon-owned daily deals site): As of May 13, you could order it there for just $1,579.99, or 31% off its usual retail price of $2,299.99. That’s $117 better than its previous record-low on Amazon (where it’s currently sitting at $1,746.99), according to the price-tracking site camelcamelcamel.

Buying a new TV in 2022? Here are the 5 most important features you need.

Offering stellar picture quality with rich blacks, impeccable contrast, and over a billion colors, the C1 OLED comes equipped with two of your must-haves for next-gen consoles: support for HDMI 2.1 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Fortnite fanatics and Assassin’s Creed aficionados alike can also take advantage of a Game Optimizer menu option that puts all of your settings in one place. An Auto Low-Latency Mode and NVIDIA G-SYNC and FreeSync compatibility guarantee you smooth, lag-free action with minimal tearing.

If it sells out at Woot, try Walmart — the big box store had it listed for $1,599.99 at the time of writing.
