Mysterious OnePlus phone renders leak

TL;DR

  • Renders for a OnePlus phone just leaked. It might be a OnePlus Nord leak, but it could be a OnePlus 10 leak.
  • The renders come from reliable source Evan Blass.
  • The phone looks like a watered-down OnePlus 10 Pro, but OnePlus’ confusing strategy leaves us with little clues.

Last year, OnePlus completed its merger with sister company Oppo. Since then, the company’s smartphone strategy has become a confusing mess. In this year alone, we’ve seen the company launch several phones of varying quality locked to various regions of the world with price points all over the place.

Today, reliable leaker Evan Blass posted a tweet of some OnePlus renders. The tweet had no text or other explanation, so we don’t know what these renders are. You can see the phone at the top of this article. Is this a OnePlus 10 leak? A OnePlus Nord leak? Something else? It’s difficult to say.

Upon first glance, we would expect this to be the vanilla OnePlus 10. The camera module looks like the OnePlus 10 Pro’s but is clearly of a lower tier. However, the render doesn’t feature the Hasselblad logo, which we would expect on the vanilla OnePlus 10. It could still be the 10, but we’re doubtful.

Instead, this could be a OnePlus Nord leak. We’re not sure which phone it would be, but the overall design does suggest something in OnePlus’ mid-range catalog. The phone’s eery resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy A53 also leads us to believe this is a Nord-level device.

However, it could be this is not a OnePlus 10 or a Nord. We won’t know for sure until we get some more information.
