Apex Legends Season 5 New Character Loba Has Already Appeared In-Game

Loba, the new playable character coming to Apex Legends in Season 5: Fortune’s Favor, has already appeared in-game. You don’t actually have to drop into a match to find the talented thief–just log into Apex Legends and wait.

If you wait long enough on the lobby screen, Loba will eventually appear in the background behind you and your party. She’ll teleport in on the left side of the screen, silently stalk towards the right, give a playful nod and hair flick towards you, and then teleport off screen. You can see the scene play out below.

Given that we see Loba use this teleport technology in the Legacy of a Thief animated trailer, it may be safe to say that it’s connected to one of her three in-game abilities. However, Respawn hasn’t officially announced what Loba’s passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities are so there’s currently no way to know for sure.

This isn’t the first time a legend has appeared in Apex Legends ahead of being playable. Crypto first appeared in the Kings Canyon Singh Labs ahead of Season 3: Meltdown, providing the first hints that Season 3 would add a new map to Apex Legends.

Alongside the addition of Loba, Season 5 will add a brand-new game mode to Apex Legends called Quests. Respawn hasn’t provided much detail on Quests either, though early descriptions do suggest a PvPvE or PvE mode–which would fit with some of Respawn’s teasers for Season 5, including that the new season would add a “pleasant surprise” for Titanfall fans.
