Target takes on Prime Day with three-day sale from July 11-13

Target(opens in a new tab) has thrown its red vest into the anti-Prime Day ring.

The department store chain will be hosting its largest-ever Target Deal Days sale from July 11 to 13, it announced Thursday. The news came hours after Amazon revealed that Prime Day 2022 will be running from July 12 to 13 — pure coincidence, we’re sure.

According to the press release, this fourth iteration of the annual event will feature three full days of bargains on Target.com and the Target app across every category, from electronics to home goods, beauty, apparel, and toys. And unlike Amazon’s event, there’s no membership required.

“We know guests look forward to Target Deal Days every year,” said Christina Hennington, Target’s executive vice president and chief growth officer, in a statement. “With this year’s event being our biggest ever, guests can shop more incredible deals and items, with three full days to save on must-have products that will bring them joy all summer and beyond.”

Target Deal Days will feature products from Target-exclusive brands as well as big-name brands like Apple and Disney, so there’s a good chance Amazon will have some strong competition. (The press release previewed discounts of up to $70 on Apple products, up to 50% off select tech and headphones, up to 40% off kitchen appliances, and up to 35% off floor care products). Shoppers will also be able to stock up on reduced-price Target gift cards for future purchases.
