How to install fonts on Windows
Installing fonts on Windows can be done in two ways. You can use the Microsoft Store to get free and paid fonts listed there, or you can download a font of your choosing from the internet and install it manually. Both methods are relatively simple.
Install fonts on Windows via Microsoft Store
Open the Windows Settings app via search. Click Personalization. In Windows 11, this will be located on the left navigation pane.

Click the Get button to install the font. It will finish downloading and installing, and show up on the Fonts page in Settings.

Install fonts on Windows from the web
Download the font from the internet, and open the location where it is saved. If the font is in a ZIP file, you will need to extract it. Navigate to the folder where the extracted font files are.
Open Windows Settings and click Personalization. Click Fonts, located on the left navigation pane in Windows 10 and on the right pane on Windows 11.

Click and hold the font file (generally a .ttf file), and drag and drop it onto the box in the Fonts settings window that says Drag and drop to install. Windows will install the font, which will appear in the list right underneath.

Fonts have a local storage location on Windows, just like apps do. Windows stores the fonts in the following location.
You can open up Windows File Explorer and navigate to that path. Windows lists all the installed fonts in this folder. If you want to preview a file, you can double-click the font, and it will open up in a new preview window.

There are a few possible reasons why, including resolution mismatch, font settings issue, or a ClearType configuration issue. Check your display resolution and scaling in Display settings. Restore default font settings in the Fonts section in the Appearance and Personalization in Control Panel. Search for Adjust ClearType text in Windows search, and run the tool until the font looks clear enough.
To restore default fonts, go to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization ->Fonts ->Font Settings ->Restore default font settings.
