Best Prime Day phone deals 2022

July 11, 2022

Get ready, folks: the Prime Day phone deals are coming and might be one the best chances to save some big bucks on a top smartphone until we get closer to the busy Black Friday deals season later this year. So if you don’t want to wait that long, check out our highlights of the massive Amazon summer sales event. The deals officially take place July 12-13, but many partners can’t help but put offers live even earlier, and rival retailers will certainly have something up their sleeves too.

This page is your one-stop-shop for smartphone deals that you can take advantage of right now and throughout the event. We’ll be sure to highlight those offers available away from Amazon too.

We’re talking about epic Samsung Galaxy S22 deals and discounts on still-great phones from last year like the OnePlus 9 Pro. If you want to save even more money, there are also tons of cheap Android phones worth checking out. So we encourage you to bookmark this page and check back often, we’ll be updating it on a regular basis.

First things first, let’s look at deals for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Including the S22, the S22 Plus, and the S22 Ultra, this flagship device lineup launched earlier this year and is expected to take center stage with a ton of great offers come Prime Day.

By definition, flagship phones stand out as the best you can get, offering the highest-end specs, features, and designs. They’re also the phones that cost the most, so when they aren’t on sale, they can be difficult for many people to afford. Thanks to Prime Day, however, buying some of these flagships is considerably easier.

After years of releasing just so-so phones, Google finally delivered an excellent flagship device with the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro lineup. Prime Day is expected to arrive with some great Google Pixel deals in tow, and here are a few that we’ve collected so far.

As much as we love flagship Android phones, the fact is that not everyone needs or wants one. Budget/affordable phones have gotten to a point where premium offerings aren’t that necessary for most folks, and that’s great news for you. Here are a few of our favorite budget phone deals you can pick up this Prime Day.

Prime Day 2022: Frequently asked questions

When is Prime Day 2022?

On June 16th, Amazon finally confirmed that Prime Day deals will go live on July 12th at 3am ET and will remain active through July 13th. The savings will be available for members in over 20 countries worldwide. The official statement was:

“The 48-hour event kicks off July 12 at 3 a.m. EDT and runs through July 13 for Prime Day Members in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, the U.K., the U.S., and for the first time ever in Poland and Sweden. Later this summer, Prime Day deals events will be held in India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as in Egypt for the first time.”

Before 2020, Prime Day typically took place in the middle of the month, around July 11th-15th. COVID-19 obviously took its toll on the planning of the sales event, and 2020’s Prime Day didn’t occur until October of that year. 2021’s Prime Day was similarly unusual, falling in late June, so we’re happy to see Amazon returning to some degree of normalcy with this year’s event.

How long do Prime Day deals last?

Prime Day usually lasts for just 48 hours, but only while supplies last. Some hot products can sell out in a matter of minutes, so we recommend making a list of everything you want to buy and logging into Amazon as soon as the sale goes live. Here’s another tip: competitors like Best Buy and Walmart are obviously aware when Prime Day is happening too, and they may try to beat Amazon’s prices — don’t forget to compare prices before checking out, just in case.
