Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania Adds MODOK And Bill Murray

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to hit theaters on February 17, 2023, and we learned quite a bit about the movie from the Marvel panel. However, the most interesting news to come out was the Bill Murray and MODOK will be in the movie.

Here’s what we know. Bill Murray is playing a character that knows Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), but not much else is known about him–he seems to be connected to or reside in the Quantum Realm. Additionally, director Peyton Reed confirmed that MODOK will be in the movie. Is Murray playing MODOK? Probably not, but that’s fun to speculate on.

MODOK recently had his own TV show on Hulu, and the character was voiced by none other than Patton Oswalt. Sadly, it was canceled after one season. MODOK stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. He a AIM lab tech, turned into a giant-headed killing machine.

If MODOK being involved in the MCU seems “too far out there,” let us remind you that Arnim Zola has appeared in three MCU movies–but only once as a computer program. That was a character who had a computer screen on his chest with a close-up of his face. It’s a very weird character, but the MCU movies made him work pretty well. So, bring on the MODOK–and Bill Murray, and again, at the time of this writing, they’re not mutually exclusive.
