That $20 savings is nearly enough to cover the $24.99 Booster Course Pass(opens in a new tab) that you’ll need to access the new tracks as they come out throughout the next two years.
After countless Nintendo Direct events with no mention of a new Mario Kart game, there’s no reason to wait around for the currently-nonexistent ninth iteration.
