TL;DR: As of August 25, you can get the VH-80 Bilateral Laser Distance Measurer(opens in a new tab) for just $144.30 with code VH80 — that’s a 27% discount.

Whether you’re hanging a painting, sticking a curtain rod above a window, or just trying to see for sure if an ad for a new home told the truth about the square footage of your potential “walk-in” closet, there’s a lot of reasons you might want an easy way to measure things. And sometimes, it might be a little tiring to pull out the old tape measure. However, there may be something that could do the job a little faster, smarter, and with zero risk of 45 inches of metal tape shooting back at you.

The VH-80 is a bilateral laser distance measurer that can evaluate the distance between two points(opens in a new tab) without the hassle of a traditional measuring tape. With the press of a button, the VH-80 can perform quick measurements at the job site or around the home, and it’s on sale for $144.30 (Reg. $199) with code VH80.

The measure of a good tool

Successfully funded on Kickstarter, the VH-80 has a variety of functions that could be useful in many of the same creative, home improvement, and bare necessity niches that a tape measure or ruler normally fills. You can take a distance measurement by placing the VH-80 between two points so long as they are up to 80 meters apart. Then, press a button, and you’ll receive three values: the distance to the left, right, and the sum of the two. As valuable as that may be, it’s not the only measurement the VH-80 can take.

The VH-80 lets you set up continuous measurements to measure at a time interval and check the live change in distance as you move. You can also calculate the area or volume of space(opens in a new tab) with a few twists of the wrist or identify the length of the third side of a triangle using the Pythagorean theorem.

A versatile tool for fast measurements

Make fast, accurate measurements using a laser from a device that could likely fit in your pocket. Get the VH-80 Bilateral Laser Distance Measurer(opens in a new tab) for $144.30 (Reg. $199) with code VH80.
