On both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, the Targaryen family legacy looms large.. While House of the Dragon focuses on them at the height of its power, hundreds of years in the past, Game of Thrones–gives us a look at those who remain after their dragon-riding empire ultimately crumbles.
And unsurprisingly, there have been quite a few members of this family that have appeared on screen during these shows’ runs. So we decided to highlight every Targaryen that’s appeared on screen for the Game of Thrones universe.
For this look into all the Targaryens that have appeared on both House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones, we’re taking a look at everyone that was a Targaryen at birth that has showed up on the series, not those who married into the family. There is one exception here, who is the son of a prominent Targaryen in House of the Dragon.
And while the book Fire & Blood details everything you need to know about the Targaryens, we’re leaving out the death dates for members of House of the Dragon–who haven’t passed yet–to avoid possible spoilers and because we’ve already learned that the series has deviated from the book already. However, there are Game of Thrones spoilers in this, so you’ve been warned.
