That’s what you think. And that’s what they told their fans what to think. But that’s not reality. That’s just to cover up their current embarrassment.
Does Microsoft want their followers paying for stacks of services so that they can have reoccurring revenue without doing much work? You bet.
But they can’t expand unless hardware is selling. PC hardware, console hardware, phone hardware, etc. You can’t sell services and games without hardware to play it on.
What’s funny is that the base thinks that Microsoft’s services will take over everything. “It’s Microsoft’s long game.” Yeah. But it’s reliant on hardware sales. Everyone else’s hardware. Because theirs is not selling worldwide.
But, does anyone think Google, Apple, Amazon, Nintendo, etc, would allow Microsoft to dominate their own services? Example. Apple Games. Does anyone think Apple would allow that to be run over by Microsoft’s services? Nope. Now pick another company and ask that same question.
Microsoft had better get cracking selling hardware. Ain’t nobody fooled. Lol.
