Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

TL;DR: As of Oct. 2, you can get the Geneverse Solar Generator: HomePower ONE + SolarPower ONE(opens in a new tab) for $1,499 — that’s a $98 discount from the usual $1,597.

A blackout may be a lot easier to weather if you’ve got your own power source. The grid may go down, but a solar-rechargeable generator(opens in a new tab) could keep some of your essential appliances and electronics running while you wait for things to go back to normal.

The Generverse Solar Generator comes in two parts. HomePower ONE is a 1,002Wh rechargeable power station, and SolarPower ONE is a high-output portable solar panel you can use to recharge it. Together, they could be a huge help if you need power in a pinch. They’re also on sale for $1,499 (reg. $1,597).

Keep your appliances running and your devices charged

Even if it’s a storm that knocks your power out, a solar generator could be useful in bringing some of it back. Even with cloud cover, many solar panels can still collect energy, though they’re more efficient in direct sunlight. And you shouldn’t need to constantly recharge. HomePower ONE’s battery is big enough for up to seven days of power supply on a single charge, but that varies depending on what you’re using it for, and you do have a lot of options.

With three AC outlets, two USB-C, two USB-A, and one car outlet, there’s a lot you can keep connected to HomePower ONE. The AC outlets are rated for 1,000W power and 2,000W surge power. Most home appliances should have their wattage clearly stamped somewhere on the bottom, so you can easily check what you could keep going. You’ll use more power with higher-wattage appliances than if you were just charging your tablet and keeping the router on, but you also have a few options to recharge.

The HomePower ONE has a car charger outlet, and you can also connect SolarPower ONE. This foldable solar panel(opens in a new tab) has a 200W output for super fast charging. It’s a monocrystalline solar cell, which is far more efficient than the more-common polycrystalline model. Setting it up only takes a few seconds, and it’s made from high-durability cloth and PET high-temperature-resistant material. It also has built-in USB-C and USB-A ports, so you could charge your phone with the power of the sun.

Stay connected during a blackout

If you want a backup plan for a power outage, then the sun is a pretty consistent place to put your trust. For a limited time, get the Geneverse Solar Generator: HomePower ONE + SolarPower ONE(opens in a new tab) for $1,499 (reg. $1,597).
