Poll: Would you pay $6.99/month for Netflix with ads?

Netflix launched an ad-supported streaming plan yesterday, coming after months of rumors and the company’s own confirmation earlier this year. The company joins platforms like Hulu and HBO Max in offering an ad-supported plan at a cheaper price.

Would you buy this plan, though? That’s what we want to know in our featured poll today, so let us know by choosing an answer below.

Would you pay $6.99/month for ad-supported Netflix?

5 votes

We can see why some people would be attracted to the Basic With Ads plan, as you’ve still got access to most of the Netflix library. The company also says you can expect four to five minutes of ads in an hour, which is far lower than many cable and broadcast TV channels. The $6.99 price tag will also undercut the upcoming Disney Plus ad-supported plan.

Then again, we don’t blame you if you want to steer clear of this plan. You’re limited to just 720p resolution, some content won’t actually be available at this tier, and you can’t download content to your mobile devices. We can also understand if it’s a matter of principle for you. After all, one of the original advantages of Netflix was that it had no ads.
