A Clarksville, N.H., woman has been indicted on allegations she stole more than $350,000 from a Colebrook, N.H., Chevrolet dealership.
Tina Fournier’s alleged thefts took place between January 2017 and December 2021 at Noyes Chevrolet and its predecessor, Brooks Chevrolet, according to a grand jury indictment.
Fournier’s relationship to the stores could not be confirmed. The Conway Daily Sun describes her as a former Noyes Chevrolet employee.
Fournier, 47, allegedly withdrew $147,975 from the Brooks Chevrolet checking account between January 2017 and April 2019, and another $200,652 from Noyes Chevrolet’s account between September 2019 and December 2021.
Brooks Chevrolet was sold in 2018 and renamed Noyes Chevrolet in 2019, according to the dealership’s Facebook posts.
Authorities also accused Fournier of using credit cards tied to Brooks Chevrolet to make more than $3,000 worth of unauthorized purchases, including Prime Video and hotel accommodations, between November 2017 and June 2021. She also is accused of using a credit card associated with Noyes Chevrolet to make more than $1,500 in unapproved purchases, including items at a liquor store, a casino and a local country club.
Fournier’s attorney, Mark Sisti of Sisti Law Offices, said his client had entered a not guilty plea, but the case was in its infancy and he hadn’t yet seen materials such as a police report.
“I have to find out about it first [before commenting],” Sisti said Friday.
Coös County Attorney John McCormick said he couldn’t comment on an active case nor could he share the police report or other discovery materials. Colebrook Police Chief Paul Rella confirmed his department was called to the dealership on a report of employee embezzlement but referred other inquiries to McCormick. Noyes Chevrolet dealer principal Donald Noyes said Friday he wanted to get approval from his attorney before commenting on the case.
A grand jury indicted Fournier on Oct. 21 on three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and two counts of theft by unauthorized taking, all Class A felonies. Indictments make no finding of guilt or innocence; they simply mean a person is now formally charged with a crime.
Fournier is scheduled to be arraigned before the Coös County Superior Court on Nov. 17.
