OnePlus has partnered with Epic Games to bring the Fortnite 90fps experience to the OnePlus 8 series. Both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will now be able to run the popular battle royale game at 90 frames per second as opposed to a previous peak of 60fps.

With the new partnership, the OnePlus 8 series becomes the only smartphone line in the world to support 90fps play for Fortnite. This will make gameplay even more fluid and improve the overall graphical performance. In a game like Fortnite, 90fps should certainly give you an edge over others players that have phones with slower frame rendering speeds.

OnePlus also announced users in India will now be able to download Fortnite from the OnePlus Game Space app – a custom Android games launcher for OnePlus phones.

Meanwhile, Fortnite on the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series will remain restricted to 60fps. All the phones in the 2019 flagship series, apart for the standard OnePlus 7, come with 90Hz screens so we’re not sure why gameplay on them is capped at 60fps.

For now, Fortnite is the only popular battle royale title to get 90fps gameplay, with PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile restricted to 60fps on phones. Epic Games also hasn’t announced 90fps support on any other phones except the OnePlus 8 line.
