The first batch of Humble Choice games for 2023 is here–and it’s a doozy. Humble often packs its Choice monthly collections with some great PC games, but this month’s lineup is stacked with one of the best first-person shooters of recent years, a beloved skateboarding game, and several awesome RPGs–all at no extra cost for Humble Choice subscribers.
This month’s standout Hunble Choice title is the brutal, fast-paced shooter Doom Eternal. In GameSpot’s Doom Eternal review, Phil Hornshaw awarded the game an 8/10. “Doom Eternal’s combat, combined with its enhanced mobility and option-heavy level design, create a ton of white-knuckle moments that elevate everything that made Doom 2016 work so well,” he wrote.
There’s also OlliOlli World, an excellent skateboarding game that was nominated for Best Sports/Racing game at The Game Awards 2022. While the core skating gameplay is all about chaining together gnarly combos, there’s quite a bit to do in OlliOlli World. Players create their own character, then set out to skate across the world of Radlandia, meeting new characters, taking on side quests, and exploring the game’s intricate levels.
For those who want something to play with their friends, there’s the co-op survival RPG Tribes of Midgard. Teams of up to 10 players battle monsters, scavenge for supplies, and build up bases to survive the onslaughts of mythic monsters, extreme weather, and other hazards brought on by Ragnarok.
This month’s Humble Choice collection also includes a handful of other RPGs and action-adventure games like the tactical sci-fi RPG Encased, chill life sim Hokko Life, and dark fantasy action-adventure The Serpent Rogue. Rounding out the list are the colorful sandbox adventure Grow: Song of the Evertree, and Conan Chop Chop, which reimagines the iconic fantasy hero Conan The Barbarian as a cartoon hack-and-slash.
