Toy Soldiers 2 Announced Alongside Remaster Of Two Previous Games In Series

Signal Studios, the developer behind the Toy Soldiers series, has confirmed a new game is in development: Toy Soldiers 2: Finest Hour. It’s coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and first footage of the game is available now on the game’s website. It shows toys fighting against one another, as was the case with the original game.

According to the game’s site, it will recreate several moments from World War II. “Survive Dunkirk, siege the beaches of Normandy, battle the Imperial Navy in the Pacific, and beware the dreaded arsenal of secret Nazi weapons,” the site reads.

It’s not clear when Toy Soldiers 2 will release, but like the original you’ll be able to both deploy and direct units while also taking direct control of forces to fight the enemy directly.

The first two games in the series are also getting re-releases. Toy Soldiers HD and Toy Soldiers: Cold War HD are also coming in Spring and Summer 2020 respectively, both for Nintendo Switch.

Toy Soldiers HD will celebrate the game’s tenth anniversary with new content, options, and difficulties, alongside a visual overhaul, improved controls, and all DLC included. It is unclear whether Cold War HD will receive new content too.

The original Xbox 360 release of Toy Soldiers received an 8.5/10 in GameSpot’s review, and reviewer Justin Calvert called it “a great game that you can easily sink a dozen or more hours into without feeling like you’ve seen everything it has to offer.”

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
