New On Prime Video In March 2023: Top Gun: Maverick, The Power

March is only two weeks away–which means a whole bunch of new content hitting Prime Video. Some of that content will be available on March 1, while other shows and movies will be available a little later next month.

On March 24, Prime Video subscribers will be able to check out Top Gun: Maverick. The long-awaited sequel–which was just nominated for a Best Picture, among other Oscar categories–takes place more than 30 years after the original, with Pete “Maverick” Mitchell training a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, confronting the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears. There has been a lot of deserved hype around the movie, which was on track to become the No. 1 global movie of 2022 until Avatar: The Way of Water dethroned it. You can read our review round-up of the movie here. In GameSpot’s review, Chris E. Hayner says that Top Gun: Maverick “has been able to pull off what seemed impossible” in “following up on a beloved movie over three decades later… delivering a sequel that should be able to stand the test of time just as much as the original.”

Also worth a look is The Power, a sci-fi thriller coming to Prime Video on March 31. Based on Naomi Alderman’s 2016 novel of the same name, its synopsis reads: “The Power is our world, but for one twist of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.” Toni Collette, John Leguizamo, and Toheeb Jimoh star in the series, which boasts an all-female writers room.

Below is a list of all the content coming to Prime Video in March. Here’s our rundown for Disney+ and Hulu next month.
