I mean, that’s pretty much true across the board. Most of us don’t have the self-restraint to hold on to our convictions (see: https://tinyurl.com/2hhgjmw… ). People don’t buy things for all kinds of reasons, from game quality to company issues. Just because it isn’t widespread or might not bring about change has nothing to do with individual action. Not sure if I’m misreading – sorry if I am – but it feels like you’re kinda thumbing your nose at Snookies. I’m sure you’ve not supported a product or person for your own reasons at some point in your life.
That said, I just won’t preorder this because I don’t preorder games, period. Past successes (or failures) do not predict future outcomes. They can set up expectations, but that’s about it. I played like 1,000 hours of Diablo 3, so I’m pumped for 4, but I’m unlikely to buy this for a minimum of a week or two to ensure things aren’t borked (and that Diablo Immortal monetization didn’t seep on over to the main show).
If people want to preorder, go for it, no skin off my nose even if I personally think waiting is the wiser thing to do. We all care about different stuff to different degrees, and $70 is likely different for me than it is for others.
