Jenna Ortega is coming off the heels of Netflix’s Wednesday, reprising her role as Tara Carpenter in Scream VI, and she’s set to host Saturday Night Live(Opens in a new tab). But alongside her sparkling repertoire, she’s known for her frank, deadpan delivery and distinctively honest humor.

All of this comes through during her appearance on The Tonight Show, when she spoke to host Jimmy Fallon about her performances, attending award shows, and the future for Wednesday Addams in Season 2 .

“I think we want to up the horror aspect a little bit, then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation and just let her be her own individual and fight her own crime,” she tells Fallon with a smile. Recently, Ortega revealed her stance(Opens in a new tab) on some of the plotlines in Wednesday, telling Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast that she wasn’t always happy with the script and grew protective of the character: “Her being in a love triangle made no sense,” she told Shepard.

Ortega also spoke to Fallon about the recent SAG Awards, including working with Aubrey Plaza(Opens in a new tab) and being nervous to meet Paul Mescal (“I couldn’t look him in the eye”).
