Cliff Bleszinski considered taking Gears 4 first-person pre-Microsoft acquisition

It’s sad what happen to Gears under Microsoft’s stewardship. Halo is in an even worse state.

The fact of the matter is they’ve been set on keeping the games exactly as they were back in the early 2000’s.

Gears should be terrifying at this point like Dead Space. Real scary enemies. Real threats. Yet it’s still the same old ish.

Halo with the voice lines being all jokey by enemies. It’s time to grow up. Yet they refuse to evolve and grow either franchise.

Same tired stale ideas. Microsoft simply caters to the streamers and pro players at this point. They’ll never learn their lesson regardless of how much those franchises fail.

Cliffs B should have obscene amounts of money thrown his way to restore Gears to greatness. Unfortunately that’s never going to happen.

Therefor the epic fails under Microsoft will continue. Bungie for all of their issues with Destiny was smart enough to abandon ship and run far far away from them.
