Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is soon expected to update its budget smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi 9 series. While Redmi hasn’t confirmed a launch date for the Redmi 9 series yet, the Redmi 9 has been listed by an online retailer. The Redmi 9 listing on the Lazada Philippines website not only gives us a clear look at the phone’s design, but also lays bare almost all its key specs.

The Redmi 9 will come with a 6.53-inch FHD+ display featuring a waterdrop notch at the top and blue light protection certification. Powering the upcoming budget phone will be a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, which is a massive upgrade over the Snapdragon 439 chipset under the hood of its predecessor. The 12nm chipset will be paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.

In the camera department, the Redmi 9 will have a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 13MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. As for selfies, the phone will feature an 8MP snapper on the front. Keeping the lights on will be a massive 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Even though the smartphone hasn’t been officially announced yet, Lazada has listed the phone’s 32GB version at 7,350 Philippine pesos ($147) and the 64GB version at 7,990 Philippines pesos ($160). Rumors suggest the phone is likely to be formally unveiled on June 25.
