Depends on the game, I could play something like Halo Reach (PC) & have a few questionably laggy deaths but never have I spotted an obvious hacker.
I play GTA V(PC) for 10 minutes & some prick is already teleporting me or dropping cargo planes on me, or worst, forcing money on to me.
Over a thousand hours of playing Fortnite & I recall less than a handful of obvious hackers (although did spot the occasional glitchers but that could be done on any platform).
If I were to switch back to console gaming, cross play support could tip the balance over which console I choose. If both had it & allowed me to not only play with PC but the other console too, I’d pick the PS5 for it’s single player games. If neither went out of their way to support it, then annoyingly, because most my friends only play on Xbox, I’d be leaning towards the XsX in order to play with them with I despise the thought of.
I’ve nothing against owning an XsX, rather my issue is having my choice limited in order to play with mates, that to me is like having to buy an iPhone to call people who use iPhones & that’s what it feels like to me when I hear people advocating for closed platforms, it just seems backwards & doesn’t make sense.
