It doesn’t always kill games, but it stained the developer’s reputation.
The next game they launch, people will be more of a wait and see, instead of buying it day 1, which hurt the revenue a lot, when you compare a sale at launch for $60, to when you buy the game now is $30.
I am glad it finally fixed the game though, I tried on PS4 day one, then returned it. And never got a chance to try it again yet, might buy it after finishing FF16, Zelda, Jedi, Dead Space… my backlog is huge.
