The Huawei P40 series is finally official, and we’ve got three phones this time. The base model P40 and the P40 Pro are joined by the P40 Pro Plus, delivering even better camera and charging capabilities.

We’ve seen flagship phone prices increase all the time in 2020, but what should we expect from Huawei’s devices? We’ve got all the Huawei P40 series pricing and availability information, so you can either scroll down for all the details or hop to the Huawei P40 series Amazon pages via the button below.

Huawei P40 Pro release date

Huawei peeled the curtain back on the P40 series on March 26, a year to the date since the P30 family‘s reveal. The company also opened preorders on the same day. The P40 and P40 Pro went on sale in the weeks that followed.

It took a while for the P40 Pro Plus to be released though, going on sale in China on June 6, and it’s finally going on sale in the West from June 25. We’ll update the article with purchase links to the Plus model then.

Huawei P40 Pro price: Europe

The P series is traditionally one of Huawei’s most expensive line-ups, and the P40 series is no different. The standard P40 is the cheapest of the lot, followed by the P40 Pro and then the P40 Pro Plus. Check out the pricing in Europe below.

  • Huawei P40 — 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM — €799 (~$864)
  • Huawei P40 Pro — 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM — €999 (~$1,080)
  • Huawei P40 Pro Plus — 8GB RAM, 512GB ROM — €1,399 (~$1,534)

Depending on the country, Huawei’s website is also dishing out a few freebies with your purchase of the phone. These include the FreeBuds 3, FreeBuds 3i, and/or the Watch GT2E.

Huawei fans in the UK have been able to buy the P40 series for a while now, and you can expect to pay a similar price for the series compared to European pricing.

It’s also worth noting that as of writing Huawei is giving away a free pair of FreeBuds 3 earbuds valued at £150 (but actually selling for £120 on its site) with the P40.

Camera shootout: OnePlus 8 Pro vs Galaxy S20 Plus vs Huawei P40 Pro

With 2020 flagship season well underway, photography enthusiasts have a bunch of new cameras to choose from. Three of the best on the market right now are the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, Huawei P40 Pro, …

Opt for the P40 Pro and the firm will toss in a wireless charger, a wireless car charger, as well as a Watch GT2. The latter freebie needs to be claimed 14 days after the purchase rather than alongside it.

Like the idea of the top-end P40 Pro Plus? Then you’ll be getting a Watch GT2 and a 40W wireless charger as part of the purchase.

  • Huawei P40 – 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM – £699.99 (~$884)
  • Huawei P40 Pro – 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM – £899.99 (~$1,137)
  • Huawei P40 Pro Plus – 8GB RAM, 512GB ROM – £1299.99 (~$1,642)

Huawei and the US

Huawei’s phones can be acquired via the likes of Amazon in the US, but you’ll want to make sure your desired phone’s network bands are supported by your carrier.

A bigger concern however is the lack of official Google Play Services support due to the US trade ban. That means no Play Store, Gmail app, Google Maps app, and other apps that rely on the Play Services framework. This extends to some third-party apps too, unfortunately. It’s also worth noting that the lack of Google support affects all Huawei P40 series devices (not just in the US), and while there are workarounds, it’s not guaranteed to be permanent or foolproof.

Just want to get your hands on a Huawei P40 series phone anyway? Then you can check out the Amazon deal via the button below.

Huawei P40 Pro Bigger battery and periscope goodness

The Huawei P40 Pro ups the ante over the P40, featuring a bigger battery, a periscope camera for 5x optical zoom, fast charging, wireless charging, and more. Still no Google services though.

Huawei P40 A more affordable flagship that can see in the dark

Huawei’s standard P40 doesn’t have a massive battery or fancy periscope cameras, but you are getting the core P40 experience here. That means the Kirin 990 chipset, a 50MP main camera with impressive low light capabilities, and Golden Snap photography features.
