How to use PayPal on Amazon

July 15, 2023

E-commerce giant Amazon is known for supporting a variety of payment methods, including Apple Pay, Visa gift cards and more. Since PayPal is widely preferred as an excellent payment method in the world of online shopping, many users wonder how it can be used to buy stuff on Amazon.

Though users can’t directly use PayPal to make purchases on Amazon, there are a few workarounds that you can use instead. Here are a few options.

PayPal Debit Card

PayPal users can get their hands on a PayPal Debit Card(opens in a new tab), formerly known as a PayPal Cash Card, which can be added as a debit card on an Amazon account. It draws money from one’s PayPal balance every time the user uses it to make a purchase. It can also be used everywhere else online and in stores as long as they accept Mastercard.

Here’s how you can add a PayPal Debit Card to your Amazon Account:

What You Need

  • PayPal Debit Card
  • Internet connection
  • Amazon

Step 1:
Go to the Amazon website to add your PayPal cash card to your Amazon account.

Step 2:
Click on Account and Lists on the top right of the landing page.

PayPal Credit Card

PayPal also offers two credit cards in collaboration with Mastercard: the PayPal Cashback Mastercard(opens in a new tab) and the PayPal Extras Mastercard(opens in a new tab). These credit cards are available exclusively to PayPal account holders and function similarly to regular credit cards. They can be used for making purchases both online and in physical stores. However, it’s important to note that when using these cards, you’re not directly utilizing your PayPal balance to cover the cost of your purchases.

Amazon Gift Card

If you want to use PayPal to buy stuff from Amazon, one simple way is to purchase Amazon gift cards using your PayPal account. You can buy these gift cards from websites like eGifter(opens in a new tab) and Best Buy (opens in a new tab)and pay with your PayPal balance. Once you have the gift card, you can use it to shop on Amazon just like you would with any other payment method.
