DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures have unveiled a new clip from the highly anticipated movie Blue Beetle. Blue Beetle hits theaters August 18.

The movie traces Jaime Reyes’ story–a college graduate who returns to Palmera City and unexpectedly becomes host to an ancient alien relic, the Scarab. This relic grants him a powerful exoskeleton, turning him into the formidable superhero, Blue Beetle. In the new one-minute clip, we witness a crucial Reyes family moment: Following what appears to be a cheerful fast-food meal and a gift of car keys, Jaime’s hands instead land on the mysterious Blue Beetle scarab. This sets the stage for a family united in his heroic journey.

Xolo Maridueña, the lead actor of Blue Beetle, has previously alluded to the potential for surprise cameos from well-known figures within the DC Universe. This clip doesn’t offer any clues for who that might be, but we won’t have to wait long to find out, with the release date just over a week away.

Blue Beetle’s cast includes Adriana Barraza, Damían Alcázar, Elpidia Carrillo, Bruna Marquezine, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez, along with appearances by Belissa Escobedo and Harvey Guillén.

Guided by director Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings), Blue Beetle comes from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

Blue Beetle hits theaters August 18.
