Despite all the noise around Google Meet, you’re still more likely to be using the more consumer-oriented Google Duo for social group video calls. Google has rolled out a new update to the web app, lighting up a much-requested feature — group video calling. More than that, Google has upped the limit from what users on mobile were used to. Duo users are now able to make group calls with as many as 32 people.
Duo is making use of the tiled interface popularized by Zoom, allowing users to see any and all callers simultaneously.

The new feature is contingent on the Chrome 83 update, which rolled out a few weeks ago so you’ll need to have at least that version of Chrome. On Android and iOS, you can still use Duo group calls, you’ll just only be able to see up to 12 users on that much smaller canvas.
