Fortnite: Where To Use A Whirlpool At The Fortilla (Aquaman Challenge)

Fortnite: Chapter 2, Season 3 is officially live, which means a huge slate of changes for the game, as well as a new set of challenges to complete. Much like Deadpool last season, Aquaman is the big licensed tie-in character for this season, complete with a skin to unlock and challenges to complete. The first of these is available on launch day, and it’s luckily pretty easy to complete: Use a whirlpool at The Fortilla. Here’s what you need to do.

Where Is The Fortilla?

The Fortilla is the new base in the southwest corner of the map; it can be seen prominently in the opening cutscene for Season 3. Of course, when you first jump in to the game this season, none of the named locations will be listed for you, so we’ve included a map with The Fortilla’s location below. It’s located west of Rickety Rig and south of Holly Hedges.

How Do I Use A Whirlpool?

Whirlpools are a new element found around the new water-filled map. Using one is as simple as moving into the center of it–this will launch you into the air and allow you to redeploy your glider.

It’s unclear if there are fixed locations for whirlpools, but you should be mindful that you’re near enough to The Fortilla when entering one for this challenge–it’s easy to be too close to Rickety Rig, for instance, and not receive credit.

Whirlpools are easy to spot from the sky, so ensure you have your glider out while above The Fortilla and you should be able to see one and land directly in it–hopefully before anyone can spot you and shoot you out of the sky.

What Reward Do You Get For Completing The Challenge?

Completing the whirlpool at Fortilla challenge earns you the King of the Beach loading screen, which features Aquaman riding on the back of a series of sharks. Completing a particular Aquaman challenge that is now available at launch is how you unlock the Aquaman skin. This outfit comes with a bonus style as well, but that requires doing all five Aquaman challenges, which is also something you can’t do until they’ve all been unlocked.
