Lego Fortnite: Where To Get Obsidian And How To Harvest It

Obsidian is a mid-game resource in Lego Fortnite, used in crafting more impressive structures and in upgrading your crafting table. Like many of the mid-game and late-game resources, you will need to travel to a new biome to find these resources. You will also need upgraded tools and some special equipment to stay alive while gathering these resources. Here’s where you can find obsidian in Lego Fortnite.

Where to find obsidian

Obsidian can be found in caves in the dry valley near lava.

Obsidian is found in the dry valley, which is the desert region in Lego Fortnite. It is only found in the caves in this region, which you will need to delve into. Before that though, you will need to gather the proper equipment. First, you will need a rare (blue) pickaxe to be able to mine obsidian. The rare pickaxe can be crafted using flexwood, which is harvested from cactus in the dry valley. You will also need to upgrade the crafting table to rare in order to be able to make the rare pickaxe.

In addition to that, you will need something to keep you cool. The interiors of caves in the dry valley are burning, so you will need both a heat resistance armor piece and a heat resistance adding food item to avoid taking any damage. If you only have one, you won’t be burning but you will be hot, which still applies chip damage, just less frequently. The first heat resistant armor piece you can craft is the Cool-Headed Charm, which is uncommon (green) and requires 3 silk threads, 3 sand shells, and 1 marble.

For heat-resistant food, you will need to travel to the border between the snowy mountain and the forest biomes. There you can find snow berries, which are blue. These provide two minutes of heat resistance, but there are recipes you can make with them that provide more. The simplest is the Snow Berry Shake, which can be made with a Juicer using two snow berries and one milk. The Snow Berry Shake provides 10 minutes of heat resistance.

Once properly equipped, head into a cave and look for the black and purple rocks, which is obsidian. Obsidian is found typically on the ceiling or walls near the lava in the cave, so you might need to construct some stairs with wood to reach them. Obsidian can be used to create obsidian slabs using the Rock Breaker.
