And this is exactly what Sony wants to bring to their online games. Something fun. And I don’t even play online.
But you hear the usual nonsense about Sony going all GaaS. Or that Jim Ryan was turning PlayStation until a live service console. Or that Sony was going away from making single player games, etc.
Sony knows that online games are now live service games. Gamers expect a good online experience that you can play with others, that more content comes down the pike and road maps for future content. And that’s exactly what online games are now. Hell Divers is just the beginning excluding the bugs in the game.
Single player AAA was and is always coming. When Sony has online games that match their single player, their platform will be feature complete.
