Magick Archer: Martyr’s Bolt

Location: Windwalker’s Home and Volcanic Island Camp (Hot Springs) – You need to complete a quest called Put a Spring in Thy Step. It involves helping Cliodhna’s husband, Gautstafr, which will make her trust you. Upon accompanying Gautstafr to the Hot Springs, Cliodhna will unlock the Magick-Archer class, as well as its ultimate skill.
Ultimate ability: Martyr’s Bolt – Fires the ultimate magical bolt in exchange for a temporary decrease to the user’s maximum health. The reduced amount determines the bolt’s potency. The loss gauge accumulates while charging.
Tip: Martyr’s Bolt can easily one-shot some bosses, making it one of the best Dragon’s Dogma 2 Maister skills. The ability itself lowers your maximum HP temporarily, and it’s even possible for your character to die from it while it’s being charged. But once you shoot, countless projectiles will swarm over your targets, dealing an obscene amount of damage within a short span of time. It’s risky due to the loss mechanic, but it’s definitely worth using against tougher monsters.
