The colorful world of Splatoon just couldn’t be contained to video games, as the series has managed to spin off into a successful manga series. The original collection consists of 16 different books, and now a new journey has begun with the launch of Splatoon 3: Splatlands Volume 1. The manga, published by Viz Media, just launched on April 9, and you can snag it for just $10.79 at Amazon.

Splatoon 3: Splatlands Volume 1 sees the main character, Goggles, heading to the Splatlands where they’ll meet a whole new cast of characters, including an Inkling named Braid. They’ll then embark on another family-friendly adventure over the course of 168 pages written and illustrated by Sankichi Hinodeya. Hinodeya has been working on the Splatoon manga series for nearly ten years and is responsible for all the previous entries in the original Splatoon collection.
Once you wrap up the first installment in this new Splatoon 3 series, you can preorder Splatoon 3: Splatlands Volume 2 ahead of its August 13 release. Volume 2 will follow four members of the Great Eight team who leave the group to start the New Order of Splatlands.
If you’d prefer to read a whole series, you might want to start with the original Splatoon series. Together, it offers over 1,000 pages across 16 books, so you should have plenty to keep you busy when you’re not running around online inking up the competition.
