Report: 2021 Ford Bronco Reveal Timing Confirmed

February 19, 2020

We’ve been waiting years for it, and now it’s finally around the corner. The 2021 Ford Bronco reveal will take place next month, in March, Blue Oval executives told dealers this week.

That’s according to a report from Automotive News, which also says a smaller vehicle called the Bronco Sport will debut in April. This crossover, which was rumored to potentially be called Scout or Adventurer and which is often nicknamed “Baby Bronco,” could make its first appearance at the New York Auto Show.

As we’ve been hearing all along, the report also states the Bronco Sport goes on sale late this year, followed by the regular Bronco in early 2021. Ford hopes to sell 200,000 Bronco family vehicles in 2021, enough to make Bronco a volume player as it tackles the Jeep Wrangler. As Jeep does for its 4×4 stalwart, Ford will introduce hundreds of accessories for its off-road SUV. Dealers have been assured that Ford has made changes to its accessories operations following the rollout of the Ranger pickup to ensure the profit-rich parts will be available at launch.

The 2021 Ford Bronco will be available in two- and four-door configurations, and buyers will be able to customize the model with a removable roof and removable doors. Under the hood, it’s expected to offer a 2.3-liter turbo-four, and a higher-output V-6 should also be in the cards. Keep on the lookout for a Bronco hybrid and a Bronco pickup on the horizon.

As for the Bronco Sport, it will have the same crossover bones as the new Ford Escape, but with additional off-road chops. It will share some design cues with the larger body-on-frame Bronco.
